We pride ourselves on making PPE that keeps workers safe, is comfortable, and offers freedom of motion, so that workers can protect themselves and get their jobs done safely. Most importantly, we create the products users want!
The most important question we face is, what does the worker want? When it comes to gloves, the data and feedback we’ve collected tells us workers want excellent fit, long wear, reliable protection, high comfort, cut protection, and firm grip. MCR Safety has conducted the research to know what customers prefer and then we design safety products that perform based on that data.
Orange Kevlar® covers all the features users want!
One way we ensure that products incorporate the features users want is through our Memphis-based Focus Group. The workers voice guides the product decisions we make. Since 2012, we have conducted roughly 20 user-focused meetings where we collaborate with workers like you from local industries to ensure we are producing products truly needed and not just the products we think they should wear. At the end of the day, it is your safety and neck on the line at work, so you deserve to have your voice heard when it comes to PPE needed!
Steve Jobs once said, “Many companies forget what it means to make great products. After initial success, sales and marketing people take over and the product people eventually make their way out.” With over 45 years of experience, the product remains a top priority and focus for MCR Safety.
Orange Kevlar® provides excellent cut protection, and an excellent grip
Today we would like to tell you a bit more about our award-winning line of
DuPont™ Kevlar® products. Cut-resistant gloves just keep getting better and better!
MCR Safety’s Partnership with DuPont™ and Kevlar® Gloves
For over 50 years, DuPont™ Kevlar® has been recognized for its strength and protection across a wide range of industries, including law enforcement, industrial work, and the military. Kevlar® material is able to withstand temperatures up to 900°F and is flame-resistant, so it is the ideal protection choice for applications involving heat and fire.
DuPont™ Kevlar® is also highly cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant, without sacrificing the dexterity you need to do your job. MCR Safety is honored to offer gloves made with Kevlar® fibers, and we have created multiple award-winning products over the years that take advantage of the protective properties of Kevlar® to keep our customers safe.
In 2013, we began collaborating with DuPont
™ on a new fiber and then worked systematically to develop the next generation of cut-resistant gloves. Ultimately, we would

Black Kevlar ® Gloves
As our efforts were underway for a new Kevlar® fiber, MCR Safety was recognized for a unique Kevlar® glove design. In 2014, our 9178NF safety gloves won a DuPont™ Kevlar® Glove Innovation Award. These gloves are made of black DuPont™ Kevlar® and synthetic fibers, along with nitrile foam-dipped palms and fingers.

Every day, hard-working hands come in contact with dirt, grime, and cut hazards. The 9178NF addresses all these concerns and more. However, we were not content to stop with the success of our 9178NF gloves. Instead, we used that accolade as motivation to try to top ourselves. We adapted the 9178NF glove concept to create a brand new, patented, orange-colored Kevlar® material.
Orange Is the New Black: Orange Kevlar® Gloves
As mentioned in the opening, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Over two years, we conducted multiple rounds of surveys with everyday workers at tradeshows, meetings and training events. Our ultimate goal was to obtain feedback on the color users preferred for the new DuPont
™ fiber we utilized. By the end of 2014, we had a product finalized and were preparing for the
Winter X-Games!
(Formerly known as Memphis Orange Kevlar Gloves)
We are proud of our award-winning family of Orange Kevlar® gloves and sleeves. As a result of this innovation, countless customers are now better off, safer, and more easily seen. The glove’s success is due entirely to the end-user feedback, our local focus group efforts, and our close partnership with DuPont™. We are grateful to everyone who provided us feedback, and we appreciate our partners at DuPont™.
Unlike the companies Steve Jobs mentioned, those that remove the product people after achieving success, we have continued to add countless other Orange Kevlar® products. We highlight the new glove options in our next section.

Which Orange Work Glove Is Right for You?

Top 10 Reasons to Consider Orange Kevlar® Protection
Why should you choose Orange Kevlar® gloves and sleeves?
Here are the top 10 reasons:
Reason #1
We chose orange Kevlar fabric for a reason! The high-visibility of the orange-colored Kevlar® provides workers with an additional layer of safety while they work. Others can easily spot their hands on a busy job site, whether that is someone working close by or a safety manager needing to verify someone is wearing appropriate PPE. The bright orange color enhances safety awareness!
Reason #2
DuPont™ technology. Because of our close collaboration with DuPont™ and our dedication to improving products and acting on market intelligence for new technology, we're the only authorized manufacturer of this high-visibility Orange Kevlar® patented material.

Touchscreen-friendly. It is frustrating having to take your gloves off to use your touchscreen pads. When steel is reinforcing the inner shell, no worries.
Reason #5
Lightweight and comfortable to wear. Customers demand certain features in their PPE, and those features include comfort and cut protection. Orange Kevlar® gloves are engineered on a seamless 13-gauge shell, providing ultimate dexterity without compromising cut protection.
Reason #6
Reflective logo for increased safety. We could have stopped with the orange fiber in providing better visibility for customers. Not us; we made sure bright lights reflect back to users by including a reflective logo, further increasing visibility and therefore increasing worker safety.
Check out the reflective logo in the video.
By the way, have you noticed a different logo here recently? Don’t fret, MCR Safety Cut Pro™ is still our Orange Kevlar®! We are responding to customer feedback and making all MCR Safety cut gloves more recognizable under one name.
Reason #7
Product line extensions. We expanded our lineup of gloves to bring our customers additional superior options in PPE. 9178NFO is definitely an excellent choice for applications involving oil and abrasive working conditions. However, daily life is different for each of us, including our work lives and job responsibilities. We took the design and concept of our award-winning 9178NFO gloves to create similar gloves in different polymer dips. Our 9178LO Orange Kevlar® Gloves offer excellent wet and dry grip. Working around wet objects is a concern when needing to grip, except when you’re wearing a latex-coated Orange Kevlar® glove. MCR Safety's PU option is discussed below.

accurate ANSI scores, including those made with Orange Kevlar.
